Job DescriptionThe School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of Manchester invites applications for a 6-month teaching and scholarship post in ancient Greek History and Culture, within the Department of Classics, Ancient History, Archaeology and Egyptology (CAHAE). The successful candidate will have been awarded, or will be close to being awarded, a PhD or equivalent in archaic or classical Greek History. They will have University teaching experience in the area of archaic or classical Greek History and will be able to contribute to the teaching of a course on the Odyssey; they should be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of their teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the delivery and assessment of existing L1 undergraduate course units on Constructing Archaic Greek History and The Odyssey. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to administration for the Department as requested, and to play a full role in regular recruitment activities and staff-student events. They should demonstrate the ability to undertake the academic supervision and pastoral support of undergraduates.
